Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria is a loan target for Manchester United with a buy-back clause, according to Sky sources.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for months and he is thought to have agreed personal terms on a contract extension with the Red Devils that will see him remain in the city until the summer of 2019.
However, the move will now be subject to a buyout clause that would see Di Maria, who is valued at £90m, earn around £8 million in a deal.
With Manchester United interested in a loan deal for the Argentina international, Sky sources believe United are set to sell the player, who has made a total of 30 appearances for the club this season, for around £20 million.
The Argentina international scored in the Copa America final against Chile and is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football.
However Di Maria’s contract will not be renewed until the end of the season and is believed to be on the market for £10 million.
Di Maria is currently on international duty with Argentina at the Copacabana tournament but has yet to make his first-team debut for Real Madrid since the start of last season.
